Este libro es la presentación ordenada y sistemática del manuscrito del Archivo Histórico Nacional (AHN), L. 397, Libro de actos y grados de la Universidad de Alcalá (1523-1543), el primero de la serie de Actos y grados. En el libro se detallan los diversos actos académicos que contiene el manuscrito y se recogen más de 2000 fichas de estudiantes. Se trata de época especialmente interesante para la historia de la Universidad de Alcalá. Estuvo caracterizada por el desarrollo de las Facultades y los Colegios, la recepción del erasmismo, el eco del conflicto de los comuneros, la pluralidad de opiniones y la emergencia de bandos rivales… Una retahíla de personajes célebres desfilan por las páginas del libro, que proporciona datos para ulteriores investigaciones prosopográficas.

This book explores new models and future possibilities of university governance in a Latin American context using management and leadership theories. Beginning with volume 41 (1979), the University of Texas Press became the publisher of the Handbook of Latin American Studies, the most comprehensive annual bibliography in the field. Compiled by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress and annotated by a corps of more than 130 specialists in various disciplines, the Handbook alternates from year to year between social sciences and humanities. The Handbook annotates works on Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the Guianas, Spanish South America, and Brazil, as well as materials covering Latin America as a whole. Most of the subsections are preceded by introductory essays that serve as biannual evaluations of the literature and research under way in specialized areas. On November 22, 23, and 24, 2023, the International Conference of Applied Engineering and Innovative Technologies (AENIT-2023) was held at the “El Olivo” Campus of the Universidad Técnica del Norte—UTN (Ibarra-Ecuador). The main objective of the conference was to allow the exchange of knowledge and experiences between researchers from the different national and international universities that attended it. The event was organized by the UTN and had the academic endorsement of Cisco Latam Network Academy, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), EC-Council Academia LATAM, Amazon Web Services (AWS), CEDIA (Ecuador), Universidad Mariana (Colombia), Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia (Colombia), Universidad Nacional de la Plata (Argentina) and la Universidad Técnica de Manabí (Ecuador). The publications presented at the conference were evaluated by a high-level International Scientific Committee, which evaluated the relevance and originality of the works under a double-blind peer modality. 114 articles were received, of which 48 were accepted for publication. Every two years, Archiprix International invites all university-level courses in the field of architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture to select their best graduation projects and to submit these for participation. This book presents a cross-section of the projects, including the nominees and winners chosen by an independent jury, and the favorites chosen by the participants themselves, supplemented by a representative selection that shows the range of designs and the graphical distribution across all continents. This book addresses the political effects of the massification of higher education and intellectual labor in the neoliberal state. Using the case of Chile, the author argues that public professionalism emerges in the mass university system, producing excesses of knowledge which infuse the state with political purpose at many levels. The emergence of the student movement in 2011, then the major social mobilization against the neoliberal state since the restoration of democracy in 1990, provided a clear manifestation of the politicization and ideological divisions of the mass university system. In conditions of mass intellectuality, public professionals mobilize their political affinities and links with society, eventually affecting the direction of state power, even against neoliberal policy. Through several interviews with academics, public professionals, and other documentary and statistical analyses, the book illustrates the different sites of political socialization and the ideological effectiveness of the emergent mass intellectuality of the neoliberal state.
